Because of this, developers have created thousands of apps that provide productivity tools, entertainment options, or simply conveniences that make life more exciting.

Organize Apps by Frequency of Use

The first thing to consider when organizing the apps on your smartphone is to arrange them by frequency of use. After all, there no reason to load the front page of your home screen with a bunch of apps that are opened.

Take the time to select the top ten or twenty that get used the most frequently, and move them to the front of the line. This will, of course, require moving less frequently used apps to the back of the line so that they will be out of the way.

Moving frequently used apps to the front pant of your home screen will keep them conveniently located and eliminate unnecessary swiping when you’re wanting to find them quickly.

Organize by Color

Organizing by color is a way of keeping your screen looking as aesthetically pleasing as possible. This isn’t only a way of making your phone look great, it’s also based on science.

Keep in mind that the human brain associates color much quicker than black and white name labels. This mental work is performed on the subconscious level, thus you’ll be able to navigate your phone much faster.

Believe it or not, this can make a big difference in how your brain perceives the appearance of your phone and will thus interact with it more efficiently.

Organize by Category

Another helpful tip for cleaning up your phone is to organize the apps by category. You can use folders for this, but it’s not totally necessary.

The key is to choose categories such as productivity, games, music, etc. Next, prioritize the categories according to the frequency of use, then load the home page with the most-used category and work your way back to the least used category of apps.
